Muscovite, Mica, Fuchsite, Lepidolite
I found all of these rocks by Wind River Canyon, Wyoming.
I'm still learning to identify rocks.
The large white rock with mica flakes (photos 3 and 12 above) I believe is "Muscovite Mica".
The area has lepidolite, fuchsite and aventurine.
I believe the rocks that are mostly made of mica are fuchsite. These have pink, green or black hues.
Some brands of toothpaste include powdered white mica that acts as a mild abrasive to help polish your teeth, and also adds a cosmetically-pleasing glittery shimmer to the paste. The shimmer from mica is also used in makeup, as it gives a translucent "glow" to the skin or helps to mask imperfections. Its also used in automotive paint to make it glisten. Its added to potting soil too and has many other uses.
The earliest use of mica was in cave paintings.
